The Chicago Auto Show, along the lake front at McCormick Place in Chicago, runs from Saturday, Feb. 12 to Monday, Feb. 21 – more than a week of shiny new automobiles presented to dazzle you with the auto industry’s latest creations.

This is the 114th Chicago Auto Show, stretching back to 1901. It is the oldest auto show in America. Cars on display include domestic and imported models of passenger cars, trucks and SUVs.

The show also provides glimpses of auto-related accessories, competition automobiles, project cars, antique and collector cars.

The location: McCormick Place, includes 2.7-million square feet of exhibit halls. That’s enough room for thousands of vehicle displays. If you want to see the newest models of your favorite cars, trucks and SUVs, this is the place to be.

Among the superstars excepted at the Chicago Auto Show, the new Lamborghini Huracan, the McLaren 650s Spider, the Lotus Exige Cub 360 are among the cars you don’t want to miss. You can also get your share of the “lifestyles-of-the-rich-and-famous” Rolls-Royce and Bentley.

Still, if you’re like most of us, and these high-end models are generally a little out of reach of your pocket book, you may want to find the cars, trucks and SUVs that are in your market.

These include the latest cars, trucks and SUVs from Subaru, Kia, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Volkswagen.  You’ll also see the latest from domestic auto makers, such as Ford, Chevy, Chrysler, Dodge, Cadillac, Lincoln, and Jeep. 

You’ll see electric cars, sports cars, luxury models, and everyday round -about time cars. If it’s related to the new automotive market, you can expect to find it as the Chicago Auto Show. That includes the latest models of the car, truck or SUV you may want to purchase.

Of course, with COVID, masks are required for attendees age 2 and over. Proof of COVID vaccination is not required to attend. However, to take advantage of one of the food vendors, you are required to provide proof of vaccination.

The show runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., all days but the last, Feb. 21, when it closes at 8 p.m. The cost for adults is $15. For seniors (62 and over), the cost is $10. Children 4-12 are $10 and children 3 and under are free.
