With sanitary pick-up and drop-off, the time is right

These are difficult days we’re facing. There’s no getting around it. But if you want to make the best of the situation while you’re virtually trapped at home, you may have a chance to get some of those odd jobs done around the house. For that matter, this is also an opportune time to bring your car, truck or SUV in for repairs or maintenance.

If you’re like most of us, things have piled up. Life is just too busy to put a check next to everything on your To-Do List. Now that we’ve all been grounded, so to speak, you can tackle that list.

The To-Do List often includes taking the car, truck or SUV in for service or repairs. That’s because doing so needs to fit in with your schedule. It’s not just the time taking the vehicle in, it’s also the time it takes to complete repairs. Not that this is how we want these things to happen, but the current international crisis has ‘simplified’ the schedules of a lot of people.

Now that we’re confined to our homes for an extended period, you may want to have those repairs, maintenance or service done to the car, truck or SUV.

This brings up another issue: getting the vehicle to and from the auto repair shop while on lockdown. Some shops, such as Performance Unlimited, have a solution; don’t worry about it.

You don’t need to worry about bringing the car in for work at the auto repair shop because the auto repair shop will, figuratively come to you. In the case of Performance Unlimited, most likely Denny Norton, the owner, will drive one of his auto repair technicians out to your house to get the car, truck or SUV.

That person will drive the vehicle to the shop for whatever service or repair is required. When the work is done, Denny will follow them back out to your home to drop the vehicle off. But they don’t just drop it off and go.

When they drop your car, truck or SUV at your home, the first thing they do is to wipe down any surfaces where anyone may have come into contact with the vehicle. The goal is to ensure that the process doesn’t contribute to the spread of the coronavirus.

One of the nice things about this is that, while you’re checking off auto repair or maintenance from your To-Do List, you’re also supporting an area business that needs our support in these trying times.
